About I. U. Tripp & Co.

I. U. Tripp & Co. is a general store with roots as far back as the 1830s in Oak Hill, New York, an old Catskills Pony Express town. We are located about three hours north of Manhattan, half-way between Hudson and Albany, and just a stone's throw from Windham.

Today we carry antiques, collectibles, decorative objects and items to inspire design. Many of the offerings you see here are on display in our store, along with thousands of others to discover and explore. We have things in just about any category for just about any person and specialize in useful objects from days gone by. We figure why buy a new thing when you can have an extraordinary version instead. Items are normally shipped from New York via USPS within 1 to 3 business days of when the order was placed. Transit time within the US may range from 1 to 10 business days. Please note we can not be responsible for delays in transit caused by the USPS. An 8.875% sales tax must be charged for orders shipping within New York state. Please contact us in advance of ordering to determine costs of expedited shipping, when available. 

Countries we currently ship to are: Canada, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Mexico, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom. If your country is not on this list and you would like to place an order, please contact us. Transit time for international shipments is 3-4 weeks on average. Please note we are not responsible for delays and/or any customs charges.


Most of what we sell are antiques and vintage items. Of course older things may have wonderful wear from age and an occasional flaw. We think that's actually better because it reveals a personal history unique to each object. We'll call that out when whenever see it but please understand we might not spot everything. We assume you're like us and embrace that the things we sell may be imperfect- and accept that we don't take returns based on condition or degree of condition.

In the event you receive something that was not as described correctly in ways other than condition you may return it to us for exchange or a full refund less any shipping charges. Returns must be delivered to us within 15 days of the date you received the item(s). [For example, if you received your order on the 1st of the month, it would need to be received back on our end by the 15th.] Returns delivered after 15 days and up to 60 days will be issued in the form of store credit. We cannot accept returns made more than 60 days after the original order date. Please note that flower arrangements and consumables are considered final sale and you are responsible to have made arrangements to receive them before they perish.

Return shipment costs are the responsibility of the buyer. Returned goods must be delivered to us unused, in original packaging and in the condition they were received or may not be eligible for refund or be subject to a restocking fee. We cannot be held responsible for items damaged or lost in return shipment, therefore we recommend an insured and trackable mail service. We are unable to issue a refund without receipt of the item(s) AND proof of received return delivery. Please review the terms for returns carefully- in the event we receive and deem an item not returnable according to our stated terms it will be your own responsibility to retrieve the item within 30 days at your own expense. After 30 days the item will be discarded with no recourse. Please allow 1-2 weeks for your return to be processed.
